Join us in celebrating our First Anniversary with our Second Annual Haida Clan Parade and First Annual Haida Games competition! Earn social status for yourself and your clan/team. The Haida Heritage Centre has been open to the public on a year-round basis since the "soft opening" took place on July 1, 2007. Already, thousands of visitors from arond the world have enjoyed this wonderful new facility and its programs, in the beautiful natural setting that is Haida Gwaii.
Fall/Winter Hours:
September 19th, 2008 to April 30th, 2009:
- Tuesday to Saturday: 11 am to 5 pm
- Sundays and Mondays: Closed
- Centre is closed from December 25, 2008 to January 5, 2009
Spring Hours:
May 1st to June 11th, 2009:
- Monday to Saturday: 10 am to 6 pm
- Sundays: Closed

June 12th to September 18th, 2009:

Grand Opening Ceremony - Haida Heritage Centre at Kaay Llnagaay
The official Grand Opening ceremony at Kaay Llnagaay, Sea Lion Town, took place on Saturday, August 23rd, 2008.
Close to 1,000 people attended this wonderful celebration! A wide range of events took place including: Haida Clan Parade; Landing of three new Haida canoes at the Centre's beachfront; Official ribbon (cedar bark rope) cutting/opening ceremonies (12pm-2pm); Unveiling of two poles - the Heart of Canada Pole, by Reg Davidson, and an ancient pole originating from Skedans that tells the story of the Bear Mother; Haida singing and dancing in the Performing House, a Seafood Barbecue; and two performances of the Haida play - Siinxii'gangu (Sound Gambling Sticks) in the Performing House.
