Qay'llnagaay Vision

Watchmen
Some things are certain.

  Rain falls.

The tides flow in and out unceasingly.

Each day, the light of dawn climbs slowly

        up across the sky.

On this day, once high enough, the sun's rays catch the stoic expressions of the Watchmen staring out over the bay.  It turns their shadowed faces to burnished gold. Topped by spruce root hats, the Watchmen look out from the top of the tallest of the new poles in       Kaay Llnagaay....Sea Lion Town.  One pole for each of the Haida Clans in the Village of Skidegate. Haida Heritage Centre at Kaay Llnagaay - the focal point of Haida culture in Skidegate, is starting to wake up.....

Kaay Llnagaay Heritage Centre Society

The Qay'llnagaay Experience

Haida Heritage Centre at Kaay Llnagaay commemorates our traditional Haida cedar longhouses. This unique, modern-day replica is a place for the Haida voice to be heard, a meeting and gathering place - a place of inspiration and sharing...

Kaay Llnagaay is a place to learn... to teach... and to work according to the Haida way of life.

Through our Heritage Centre we communicate who we are and what Haida Gwaii means to us by sharing our rich culture with the world....
