
Entrance to Haida Heritage Centre at Kaay Llnagaay - At the heart of Haida Heritage Centre is the Greeting House — Slaay Daaw Naay — where visitors enter a large open space radiating with natural light. The Greeting House is also referred to as the "Welcome House".
Visitors will experience a welcoming atmosphere and spectacular view of the beach, islands, and ocean beyond. Here, you will be greeted by images of our Hereditary leaders and clan crests - the Raven and the Eagle.
The main features and major partners in our Heritage Centre are on display. In the wings of the Greeting House are a Gift Shop and Cafe that will offer respite for visitors.
Our Greeting House offers:
- A welcoming atmosphere with natural light and large open space
- Casual, moveable seating
- Spectacular views of poles, the ocean and surrounding islands
- Access to the beach via glass doors
- An introduction to the Clans of Haida Gwaii
- An orientation space offering basic information for visitors to Haida Heritage Centre at Kaay Llnagaay
- Space for evening receptions, meetings, seminars, and other functions.
- Collective core messages of the Heritage Society's partners
The Greeting House includes the Trading House - a retail store. |
