
Annual events on Haida Gwaii (dates to be announced):
- Masset Harbour Days – May 2008, Masset: Victoria Day long weekend – family events with parade, kids' events, ball tournament and barbecue.
- Hospital Day – June 2008, Village of Queen Charlotte: Parade & baseball tourney; kids' activities such as Sumo Wrestling, face painting, the "water dunk"; lots of food, and good ol' socializing!
- Canada Day Celebrations - June, July 2008, Port Clements: Weekend events include a parade, ball tournament, and loads of other activities!
- Artists of the New Moon - July 2008: Village of Queen Charlotte.
- Loggers Sports Day – Sandspit. Log-rolling, burling, sawing – scheduled the end of July, beginning of August (TBA).
- Skidegate Days (Singaay Laa "Good Day") July 2008 – annual community fundraiser. Skidegate Days kicks off with bingo.
Main activities begin at 11 a.m., usually the third weekend in July . Activities include canoe races in Bill Reid's ceremonially-painted Haida canoe; outdoor volleyball, ball tournament; kids' activities - lots of prizes!. A salmon barbeque begins at 4 pm.
- Tlell Fall Fair - beginning of August 2008, Naikoon Park: The Fair is the earliest Fall Fair in BC and hosts local and off-island music talent; judging of crafts, gardening, animal husbandry; displays, pony rides; playing in and around the Tlell River; socializing, and of course - enjoying food!
- Edge of the World Music Festival – August , Tlell: The Festival hosts local and off-island talent. Food, crafts, and camping are available.
