Haida Heritage Centre is an impressive 53,000 square foot complex modeled after traditional Haida cedar long houses.  Modern elements of the glass Welcome House and building links accentuate the traditional Haida design form.   Highlighting the Haida Heritage Centre are six frontal poles representing each of the Skidegate Clans.

The following facilities and services, referred to as "Houses" are available at the Haida Heritage Centre at Kaay Llnagaay - "Sea Lion Town":

Gift Shop – Trading House (Gina Daawhlgahl Naay)   The Gift Shop is openduring the Centre's operating hours and features Haida art, jewellery, books and artwork and crafts by local artists.

Exhibitions Gallery.   The temporary Exhibits Gallery features works by contemporary artists, as well as traveling exhibitions and shows.

Cafe/Restaurant – Haala Ga Taa at Kaay Llnagaay (now open)   Traditional Haida meals as well as conventional family fare are available in our new restaurant/cafe. Box lunches and snacks can also be purchased. Just a reminder that food and drinks are only permitted in the cafe or outside picnic areas.  Smoking is also not permitted in the Centre.  Menus will soon be posted on our website.  The restaurant in the Centre is open Monday to Friday 10:00am to 6:00pm and and on weekends 10:00am to 5:00pm.  Also, our take-out window is open from 8:00am to 6:00pm on weekdays.

Facility Rentals – Performing House / Lecture Hall.   There are meeting and function rooms available for rent: host your meetings, banquets, and special events.   An indoor amphitheatre in the Performing House is available for special performances, presentations and seminars.

Parking.   Free parking is available adjacent to the Centre.

Handicapped Access.   Physically challenged visitors will have no problem accessing the Centre, as there are ramps and washrooms for the disabled.

Tours and Excursions – Haida Expeditions Ltd.  This business is also operated by the Skidegate Band and offers a variety of local tours and excursions (listed below).
